Infozahyst has developed the Kaskad radio reconnaissance system, based on the Kozak, capable of detecting enemy communication sources.
Yaroslav Kalinin, CEO of Infozahyst, discussed this in an interview with Militarnyi, which is now available on the Patreon and Base platforms.
Electronic support equipment is installed on the armored vehicle.
“Kaskad is a passive system. It determines the frequencies the enemy is operating on, their location, and distinguishes between friendly and enemy frequencies,” Kalinin explained.
The passive system does not emit anything; it only receives and analyzes signals in the air.
In this way, the system provides situational awareness to commanders and allows them to identify corridors within the enemy’s frequency spectrum.
The system operates in the 25–6,000 MHz band.
“Its task is to track and locate command and communication channels,” Kalinin noted.
Kaskad is designed for use in electronic warfare battalions and companies.
The system is based on the Ukrainian Kozak-5 armored vehicle manufactured by NVO Praktika.
The vehicle was first unveiled in 2016. It is built on a Ford F-550 4×4 chassis and combines high mobility with armor protection.
Previously, based on this vehicle, First Contact developed the FC.K, FC.KP, and FC.MP mobile electronic warfare, direction-finding, and jamming systems.
