Attack drones struck military infrastructure and defense industry enterprises of the Russian Federation in the Leningrad region.

This was reported by the Astra website.

The attack targeted enterprises producing underwater weapons, including the Research Institute of Marine Thermal Engineering,” the “Kronstadt Marine Plant, and an ammunition depot of the 15th Arsenal of the Russian Navy.

One of the strikes hit the territory of the Research Institute of Marine Thermal Engineering. Based on photos and videos published by local residents, Astra identified the direction and location of the footage.

The images show the Lomonosov Street, which leads toward St. Petersburg. One of the photos showing smoke points to the area around 44 Chernyakhovsky Street, where the facility is located.

This institute is a leading Russian military-industrial enterprise and the primary developer of the Fizik-1 and Fizik-2 (Futyar) torpedoes and their 533 mm export variants.

In addition, the institute developed anti-torpedo systems as part of the Paket-E/NK complex, as well as components for small-caliber thermal torpedoes and M-15 anti-torpedoes capable of intercepting and destroying targets heading toward a ship.

It is also likely that Ukrainian drones attacked the territory of the Kronstadt Marine Plant, which was captured on video by local residents. The plant is the largest ship repair enterprise in Russia’s Northwestern region, located on Kotlin Island in the city of Kronstadt (St. Petersburg).

Virtually all large surface ships of the Baltic Fleet, as well as ships from the Northern and Black Sea Fleets arriving for scheduled repairs, pass through its docks. The facility also repairs submarines, primarily diesel-electric ones.

It is worth noting that the Project 20380 corvette Boikiy regularly underwent maintenance at this facility. On June 3, Ukrainian drones struck this Russian missile corvette at the Kronstadt Naval Base in St. Petersburg.

There are also reports of a strike on an ammunition depot for ships of the 15th Arsenal of the Russian Navy, with coordinates 59°56’56.55″N 29°31’24.67″E. According to video footage from local residents, loud explosions resembling the detonation of munitions are heard in the area where the depot is located.

In addition, thick smoke rose from the area where the depot is located, indicating the success of the attack by strike drones.
