In defense of Mariupol the soldiers used tanks from pedestals

In the defense of the city of Mariupol Ukrainian forces used armored vehicles from pedestals.

Armored monuments were used by fighters for defensive positions and probably one during the breakthrough.

In particular, the Т-54 tank was removed to strengthen the defensive positions from the pedestal.

Soviet Т-54 tank was located on a pedestal on the territory of Azovstal plant.

The historical monument with the number “515” was located right on the territory of the enterprise and to see the tank it was required to have a pass to the plant.

During the defense of Mariupol, the tank was moved out from Azovstal and used as a defensive position.

Presumably, the tank did not reach the position on its own move, but was transported or towed.

Also, Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol used T-64A from the pedestal.

The historical tank with the number “013” was on a pedestal in the Kalmiusky district of Mariupol and had the inscription: “To the Azovmashivtsi – the creators of advanced armored vehicles of Ukraine.”

The tank was transported to the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant named after Ilyich.

It is reported that later on Ukrainian fighters tried to break through the surroundings using the T-64A tank.

The T-64A tank is a Soviet medium and main combat tank developed in the early 1960s at the Kharkiv Engineering Design Bureau. Serially produced since 1969.
