U.S. company AM General has unveiled its HMMWV-based unmanned ground vehicle equipped with a dedicated module for evacuating wounded personnel.

The development was presented at the NGAUS 2026 defense exhibition, the company reported.

The configuration’s primary purpose is to safely evacuate wounded service members from active combat zones.

Beyond medical evacuation, the system can serve as a command-and-control post or an electronic warfare system.

It is also capable of carrying out missions to evacuate the wounded, transport cargo, or deploy counter-UAV systems.

“Our MMMC (Modular Multi-Mission Capsule) can be configured for multiple mission needs, including casualty evacuation, command and control, electronic warfare, or any specific program mission needs that you have,” Matt Withun, AM General’s Unmanned Ground Systems Program Manager, shared.

The medical evacuation module was developed in partnership with Kratos Defense.

The ground-based robotic system is based on a Series 13 chassis.

The military vehicle is equipped with a new turbocharged 6.5-liter 8-cylinder engine producing 250 k.s. with a torque of over 745 Nm.

The power unit, featuring a Common Rail Direct Injection system and an intercooler, runs on diesel or JP-8 and F-24 aviation fuels.

The platform’s cargo bed, featuring modular mounting points, is designed for a payload of up to 2,268 kg and can be equipped with a crane boom.
