Hawk T2 Training Aircraft Crashed in Wales

A Royal Air Force Hawk T2 training aircraft crashed in the United Kingdom.

The accident occurred in the afternoon on the island of Anglesey in Wales shortly after takeoff from the nearby RAF Valley airbase, according to The Sun.

According to preliminary reports, both crew members managed to eject in time.

Eyewitnesses report seeing flames and smoke coming from the aircraft immediately after it took off.

The Hawk T2 is a two-seat jet trainer manufactured by BAE Systems.

It is designed to train fighter pilots and simulate modern weapon systems and radars used on combat aircraft.

As a reminder, on September 22, an F-16 fighter jet crashed at the U.S. Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany.

The German Air Traffic Control Authority reported that the accident occurred following a training exercise.
