German counterintelligence has chosen the French software ChapsVision over the American Palantir platform for analyzing large data sets.

This was reported by Opex360.

The German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) has acquired the ArgonOS platform.

The system uses artificial intelligence to process large volumes of information, including OSINT data and materials from various classified databases.

The publication notes that this decision sends a political signal regarding Berlin’s efforts to reduce its dependence on American security technologies.

Discussions regarding the use of Palantir products have been ongoing in Germany for several years due to concerns about control over sensitive data and the company’s close ties to U.S. intelligence agencies.

ArgonOS will operate in a closed ‘sovereign’ environment without external access. The requirement for digital sovereignty was one of the key factors in the platform selection process. Previously, representatives of German cyber defense stated that granting American companies access to national databases is ‘unacceptable.’

ChapsVision was founded in 2019 by French entrepreneur Olivier Dellenbach.

In recent years, the company has completed 29 acquisitions and has become one of Europe’s leading developers of data analytics and cyber intelligence systems.

The company’s clients already include French government agencies, including the domestic intelligence service DGSI.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the German government of Chancellor Friedrich Merz is preparing a bill that would significantly expand the powers of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND).
