Lithuania has started raising funds for modern radars, which should help protect Ukrainian skies.

Lithuanian journalist and volunteer Andrius Tapinas shared this.

The four largest organizations supporting Ukraine in Lithuania join forces together for the “RADAROM!” campaign.

Funds are being raised to purchase modern Israeli-made radars.

According to Tapinas, the plan is to raise at least EUR 5 million, which the Lithuanians want to spend on purchasing and handing over five radars to the Defense Forces of Ukraine to help protect the Ukrainian skies.

The public initiatives “Blue/Yellow”, “Laisvės TV”, “1K fondas”, and “Stiprūs kartu”, along with the Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT are participating in the fundraising campaign.

This initiative was also supported by Arvydas Anušauskas, Minister of Defense of Lithuania.

In November of last year, funds for three maritime strike drones for Ukraine were raised in Lithuania.

Their cost was $750,000.

Funds were transferred through the United24 fundraising platform.

Drones can be engaged in long-range reconnaissance, coastal activity surveillance, escorting and supporting the traditional navy fleet, merchant ships’ convoying, missile damage and artillery correction, protecting the base points, and counteracting amphibious operations.

Maritime drones are equipped with an autopilot system, video subsystems, including night vision, backup communication modules, and a warhead.
