Freedom of Russia Legion Blows Up Six Gas Facilities in Moscow and Tver Regions

The Freedom of Russia Legion of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine announced the conduct of Operation Torch (Fakel) against Russian gas infrastructure facilities. The operation had been prepared for several months.

According to the unit, six gas distribution facilities were damaged in the Moscow and Tver regions, the unit shared with Militarnyi.

The formation said the actions resulted in significant material damage and disrupted the operation of individual components of the network.

The Russian energy sector is one of the key sources of revenue used by the Kremlin to finance the war against Ukraine and support state operations.

Revenue from oil and gas exports has long been used to meet military needs.

It is separately noted that a participant in the operation, after its completion, fully left the territory of the Russian Federation and is currently safe.

Russian security services were unable to locate the individual or prevent the evacuation.
