Russians are using a new tactic to attack Ukrainian positions: a Molniya drone carrying two FPV drones controlled via mobile communication was spotted.

This was reported by Serhii Flash, a specialist and consultant in the field of military radio technologies.

The Molniya flies to an area with reliable 4G (LTE) coverage and drops the FPV drones at a distance of 5-10 km from the target. Operators then take control of the drones.

The use of mobile communications to control drones allows Russians to bypass traditional electronic warfare, which usually blocks signals on standard frequencies.

It is worth reminding that the occupiers have recently started using Molniya drones as carriers of FPV drones.

The Molniya flies to attack the target and at the same time brings a fellow traveler to our rear, which will be controlled separately,” Flash said.

He also noted that the Molniya UAV itself is not equipped with a repeater for the FPV drone.
