Flamingo cruise missiles struck the Votkinsk plant, which manufactures Iskander, Topol-M, and Oreshnik ballistic missiles. The plant is located approximately 1,300 km from the Ukrainian border.
This was reported by analysts from the Cyberboroshno project.
Analysts analyzed videos showing the aftermath of the strike, geolocated the site of the explosion, and confirmed that the plant’s production facilities were damaged as a result of the Ukrainian attack. According to their information, Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missiles were used in the attack.
Local residents posted videos showing a large-scale fire on the plant’s territory. In addition, local residents published photos showing broken windows in nearby residential buildings, which may indicate the significant power of the explosion.
According to the publication Astra, workshops No. 22 and No. 36 were damaged as a result of the missile attack.
Local authorities also confirmed the attack. According to the head of the Republic of Udmurtia, there is damage and casualties “at one of the facilities.”
The Votkinsk Plant is one of Russia’s key manufacturers of solid-fuel ballistic missiles. The enterprise mass-produces RS-24 Yars intercontinental ballistic missiles, previously produced and continues to service Topol missiles, and also produces RSM-56 Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missiles.
In addition to strategic systems, the plant produces 9M723 operational-tactical missiles for the Iskander-M complex and Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missiles. The company also manufactures equipment for the oil and gas complex and the nuclear industry.
