Estonia Issues Alert as Drones Fly Over During Attack on Russia

Estonia issued an airspace warning on the morning of September 1 after drones entered the country’s airspace.

The Estonian Defense Forces reported that the alert was triggered during a Ukrainian drone attack on targets inside Russia.

During the attack, the drones flew near the border and briefly entered Estonian airspace. In response, Estonian authorities urgently warned residents in the affected counties.

Earlier today, the Ukrainian Defense Forces also struck the Russian port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region. A fire broke out and damage was reported at the site following the attack.

Estonia has completed construction of a new radar station, Kipu, on the island of Hiiumaa.

The station is equipped with a French Ground Master 400 Alpha long-range radar. It can detect targets up to 515 km away and at altitudes of up to 30 km.
