Drones Strike Oil Depot in Occupied Luhansk

Drones struck an oil depot in temporarily occupied Luhansk overnight on June 5, sparking a major fire at the site.

Video footage from the scene, filmed shortly after midnight, was published by the Exilenova+ Telegram channel.

The OSINT group CyberBoroshno also confirmed the strike on the facility, which is used by Russian occupation forces.

Videos shared by local residents captured the moment of impact and the massive fire that followed, with burning fuel tanks visible from several parts of the city.

The oil depot is used by Russian forces to supply fuel to military units operating in the occupied areas of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

The facility is used to store and distribute diesel fuel, lubricants, and other petroleum products for military vehicles and equipment.

One of the previous strikes on the oil depot took place on February 27, when the facility was targeted by drones operated by the 1st Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The attack triggered a major fire at the site.

The oil depot in temporarily occupied Luhansk has also been targeted with ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles. One such strike was reported on May 8, 2024.
