Ukrainian drones attacked the Rosrezerves’ Zenit oil depot in Kotelnich, Kirov region of the Russian Federation, which is located more than 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

The Russian media BAZA reported on this.

It is announced that four drones at once attacked the oil depot, while some media outlets, citing the local dispatch service, say five, and local media say six.

This attack was the first for the region since the beginning of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.

Local governor Alexander Sokolov confirmed the attack on his social media.

He claimed that the attack did not result in a fire, but local residents and the media reported otherwise.

“A drone attacked a tank storing oil products. There are no casualties. There is no fire. The situation is under control. Oleg Ismailov, head of the city of Kotelnich, and specialized services are working at the scene,” Sokolov wrote.

ASTRA published a video of the oil depot personnel trying to shoot down the drone, but the attempt was unsuccessful, and the drone hit its target without any interference.

According to ASTRA, at least two fuel tanks caught fire due to the strike, although there is no information on the extent of the fire.
