Drones Attack Railways in Two Russian Regions: Bridge Collapses, Dozens of Railcars Derail

On September 28, drones targeted railway infrastructure in several areas of Russia’s Bryansk and Kaluga regions.

The attacks damaged railway tracks and caused dozens of railcars to derail, according to Yegor Kovalchuk, acting governor of the Bryansk region.

On the Dyatkovo–Lyudinovo railway line between the Bryansk and Kaluga regions, a drone strike caused part of a railway bridge to collapse. The damage to the bridge sent 10 freight cars off the tracks.

Another incident occurred in Russia’s Unechsky District of the Bryansk region, where a drone attack also caused a railway accident. Damage to the tracks caused 18 empty gondola cars to derail.

The attack also targeted railway infrastructure in Bryansk’s Navlinsky District. The attack damaged sections of the railway tracks there.

Earlier, during the night of September 28, drones attacked the Pavlovskaya oil depot operated by NFB-Pavlovskaya LLC, as well as the Edelweiss-95 LLC oil depot in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.

The attacks sparked fires at both oil depots.
