Drone Kills Commander of the Russian Army’s 8th Artillery Regiment

A Ukrainian drone killed Alexander Isaev, the commander of the Russian 8th Artillery Regiment, in the Kherson region.

The project “The Book of Executioners of the Ukrainian People” reported that this occurred on September 19.

The regiment was operating in the coastal tactical sector as part of the “Dnipro” task force of the Joint Forces Operation.

Isaev was born in the Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv. He had served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 1992. In 2014, while serving as chief of staff—first deputy commander of the 406th Separate Brigade of the Coastal Artillery Group of the Coastal Defense Forces Center of the Ukrainian Navy—he committed treason and defected to the enemy.

The Russians appointed him Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the 8th Artillery Regiment of the 22nd Army Corps of the Black Sea Fleet.

In 2015, he was discharged to the reserve, and in October 2022, he returned to active duty in his previous position and participated in the armed aggression against Ukraine. In September 2024, he was appointed commander of the 8th Artillery Regiment as a colonel.

It was also reported in September that Russian Major General Anton Grunis, whose death had previously been reported without any explanation of the circumstances, was killed by fighters from the Unmanned Systems Forces in the occupied Donetsk region.
