On the night of September 26, Ukrainian drones struck the Ilsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai of Russia, after which a fire broke out on the refinery’s grounds.
The attack was reported by the monitoring resource Exilenova+, which published videos and photos from eyewitnesses.
The region’s governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, later confirmed that facilities in the Seversky District—where the oil refinery is located—had been struck.
“…In addition, fires have been reported on the premises of two facilities in the district. All emergency services are on the scene,” he said.
According to Astra, the attack on the refinery began around midnight; local residents reported explosions, Russian air defense activity, and later a fire on the refinery’s grounds.
The Ilsky Oil Refinery (KNGK-INPZ LLC) is one of the largest private oil refineries in the region. The facility plays a vital role in supplying fuel to both the domestic market and for export. The plant is located in the village of Ilskaya in the Seversky District, approximately 30 km from Krasnodar.
The facility specializes in primary oil refining and the production of petroleum products, including diesel fuel, gasoline, fuel oil, and bitumen.
The refinery’s design capacity is approximately 6.6 million metric tons of crude oil per year.
This refinery is also a key link in the supply of fuel to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and to military units in the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation.
The refinery has been repeatedly struck by the Ukrainian Defense Forces since the start of the full-scale war, notably on August 8.
As a reminder, on the morning of September 25, Ukrainian drones attacked the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez oil refinery in Perm, Russia.
The facility has a design capacity of approximately 13 million metric tons of crude oil per year and ranks seventh in Russia in terms of refining volume.
