Come Back Alive Foundation reported on the effectiveness of purchased Bayraktar TB2

The Come Back Alive Foundation reported on the effectiveness of the purchased Bayraktar TB2 drones.

The Foundation’s press service discussed this in its social media.

“Bayraktar TB2, which the Foundation handed over to the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine exactly one year ago, continues to work successfully on the front lines,” the Foundation says.

Purchased by the Foundation a year ago, the system works on the front lines under the control of the Defence Intelligence pilots.

During the year of the war, the system, in particular, has been adjusting HIMARS fire on enemy targets and conducting reconnaissance during offensive operations in the Kharkiv region and during the liberation of Kherson.

The system’s drones with their own weapons destroyed:

• about 80 people of the enemy’s manpower;
• 28 units of enemy military vehicles;
• 8 combat armored vehicles;
• 7 tanks;
• 4 Grad multiple rocket launchers;
• one 2S7 Pion self-propelled cannon;
• one antenna system.

In September 2022, the Foundation published a video of the operation of Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 drones in the Kherson region.

In the released footage, Bayraktar TB2 captures the positions and movements of Russian armored vehicles. The drone strikes detected Russian tanks in position and on the move with guided aerial bombs.

The video captured that at least two tanks were hit, among which the Russian T-72 and T-62 could be recognized.

During the operation in the Kherson region, the attack drones managed to enter the airspace of the occupied territories and work effectively due to the knockout of the enemy’s air defense systems with AGM-88 anti-radiation missiles.

However, more often, in the conditions of strong overlap of the airspace by air defense of the Russians, Bayraktar works from a safe distance as a reconnaissance drone. In this, the powerful L-3 WESCAM CMX-15D targeting and designating system is of assistance, capable of conducting visual reconnaissance at a distance of up to 15 kilometers.
