The British company Inzpire Limited has been awarded a contract to train Ukrainian military personnel in air tactics and planning.
This is stated in a notice on the British government portal Find a Tender.
The contract is worth £502,000. It is for one year, beginning August 26, 2026, with an option to extend for another year. The total training duration will be approximately 20 weeks per year.
Inzpire specializes in military consulting, personnel training, and the development of mission planning software. Since 2026, it has been a subsidiary of QinetiQ.
Its GECO software is used on British and export aircraft, and its specialists have conducted over 400 large-scale exercises for the Royal Air Force.
Inzpire instructors train military personnel from more than 25 European countries in helicopter tactics, electronic warfare, and the planning of complex air operations.
The United Kingdom has been continuously training Ukrainian military personnel since 2022. Aviation training for Ukrainian pilots in the country began in 2023 as part of an international crew training program for F-16 fighter jets.
The new course differs from flight training and focuses on aviation planning and tactics.
Specifically, it is designed to cover mission planning, air situation assessment, and in-flight decision-making.
This is particularly important for the Ukrainian Air Force’s transition from Soviet approaches to NATO practices.
In the Soviet model, ground control played a significant role, whereas NATO doctrine places greater responsibility on crews for mission planning, situational assessment, and decision-making in the air.
