North Korea sent about 5 million artillery shells of various calibers to Russia by rail.

Bloomberg reported on this.

According to the publication, the Russian president will likely seek even more artillery shells from the DPRK, when he soon visits Pyongyang to discuss this issue with Kim Jong-Un.

For its part, South Korean intelligence has detected at least 10,000 shipping containers being sent from North Korea to Russia.

It is estimated that the containers can hold 4.8 million artillery shells.

“Putin is expected to seek closer security cooperation with North Korea, especially on military supplies such as artillery shells, which are necessary to seize the chance to win,” said Shin Won-sik, South Korea’s defense minister.

He also noted that in response to the massive supply of artillery shells to Russia, the DPRK had the opportunity to obtain new technologies, primarily in the development of missile systems and satellites, as well as potential supplies of tanks and aircraft.

It is noted that Putin will visit Pyongyang next week, for the first time since 2000. This increasingly close cooperation is a worrying sign for the United States and its allies.

In addition, the South Korean Defense Minister noted that, according to state intelligence, after the start of artillery shells supplies to Russia, South Korea had already gained access to certain missile technologies.

This gave the country the opportunity to both start developing new missile systems and significantly modernize the missiles already in service.

Militarnyi previously reported that the UN had confirmed that Russia had struck Kharkiv with a North Korean-made missile.

The wreckage of the missile that was found after the attack on the Ukrainian city on January 2 this year was from a North Korean Hwasong-11 series ballistic missile.
