Austria donates two fire engines to the SES of Ukraine

The Association of Municipalities donated two fire engines to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

This was reported on the official website of the Austrian Embassy in Ukraine.

The fire engines were transferred by the mayor of the municipality of Luxembourg, David Berl, and the mayor of the community of St. Anton am Arlberg, Helmut Mall.

The donated fire engines are already fully equipped with all the necessary means for extinguishing fires.

The vehicles were transferred on July 12, and according to the embassy’s official website, the fire engines will be on duty in the Kharkiv region in a few days.

It should be noted that today, Austria does not finance military aid for Ukraine but makes a certain contribution to humanitarian assistance.

The country is donating fire and ambulances, special demining equipment and providing funding to purchase special equipment for demining the territory of Ukraine.

Thus, in May 2023, the Austrian government allocated a €2 billion financial package to purchase special equipment for the demining of Ukraine.

The Austrian government noted that Ukraine is the most mined country in the world and that $40 billion is needed to clear the Ukrainian lands affected by Russia’s war.

Militarnyi previously reported that at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Austria handed over special vehicles to Ukrainian rescuers and medics.

Vienna’s emergency services transferred 11 units of fire rescue equipment, as well as 5 ambulances to Ukrainian first responders.

In addition to vehicles, many other equipment and gear arrived in Ukraine.
