On the night of September 12, Ukrainian drones attacked a number of targets in the Russian cities of Taganrog and Tolyatti.
Video footage of the strikes and the resulting fires was released by monitoring organizations, including Exilenova+.
In Taganrog, the Rostov region, NASA’s FIRMS satellites have detected several fire hotspots. Local residents have also confirmed this information.
One of the targets was likely the Beriev Aircraft Company. A fire was reported in the vicinity of the facility.
The aircraft plant specializes in the maintenance and modernization of A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft, Be series amphibious aircraft for the Russian Navy, and Tu-95MS/MSM strategic bombers, which Russia uses to launch X-101 cruise missiles at Ukraine.
The Taganrog-Yuzhny airfield, which serves as the main test base for the Beriev Aircraft Company, is located nearby.
In addition, satellites detected another fire near a local automobile plant, which is located not far from the aircraft plant.
In the city of Tolyatti, the Samara region, drones attacked the KuibyshevAzot chemical plant. A fire subsequently broke out on the plant’s grounds, which was captured on video and in photos by local residents.
The main products of the KuibyshevAzot chemical plant are caprolactam, polyamide-6, industrial yarn, ammonium nitrate, urea, ammonium sulfate, ammonia, and nitric acid.
The company is one of Russia’s leading manufacturers of chemical products.
The plant is one of the largest producers of caprolactam and nitrogen fertilizers, as well as a supplier of raw materials for the chemical and textile industries. Caprolactam, in particular, is used in the production of polyamide plastics and synthetic fibers.
Ukrainian defense forces had already attacked this facility in March 2026.
