Armored Vehicles From Practika To Be Assembled in Spain

Domestic armored vehicle manufacturer Practika signed a memorandum with two Spanish companies to organize the production of armored vehicles in Spain.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Arms Manufacturers Council.

It is noted that this is the first project of joint production of armored vehicles with Spanish partners in the European Union.

The memorandum is aimed at combining the parties’ experience in the production of specialized and military vehicles, as well as the joint development and production of armored vehicles in Spain for the needs of the EU, Ukraine and other partner countries.

The document was signed with TECNOVE S.L. and Escribano Mechanical & Engineering. The agreement was announced in the summer of this year.

The cooperation covers the production of multi-purpose military armored vehicles, fire support vehicles, specialized vehicles (ambulances, electronic warfare, command and control vehicles, etc.) and non-militarized armored platforms for demining and transportation of explosive ordnance.

“For us, it is a logical step to transfer the combat experience of Ukrainian armored vehicles to joint production chains with EU partners. Cooperation with Tecnove and Escribano will simultaneously strengthen the Ukrainian Defense Forces and provide our allies with modern, battle-tested solutions,” said Yulia Vysotska, director of PJSC Practika.

The company emphasizes that joint projects with Western partners are viewed as a tool to speed up production for the needs of the front line, not as a replacement for Ukrainian production facilities.

The cooperation is being implemented in accordance with the laws of Ukraine and Spain, including export control regimes.

A practical step within the framework of the agreement will be the creation of a joint production facility at a 25,000 square meter industrial site in Ereña (Madrid region), which Tecnove recently commissioned specifically for defense and security projects.

This site is planned to be used for large-scale assembly of armored and special vehicles using components manufactured at Practika’s Ukrainian facilities.

The finished vehicles will be supplied to Ukraine and for the needs of Spain.
