Armenian separatists start surrendering weapons in Karabakh

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reports on the first results of the confiscation of weapons from Karabakh Armenians.

According to the Ministry, weapons have been confiscated from Armenian separatists in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Separatists agreed to surrender their arms after Baku’s military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh this week.

The list includes tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, howitzers, mortars, Osa air defense missile systems, one Tor surface-to-air missile system, grenade launchers, small arms, ammunition and other weapons.

Previously, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the units of the so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” had begun to surrender weapons and military equipment.

On September 19, Azerbaijan launched an anti-terrorist operation in Nagorno-Karabakh, which is its internationally recognized territory.

The Russian “peacekeepers” who were there left their positions.

On September 20, unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh announced a ceasefire agreement.

On September 21, a meeting was held in the city of Yevlakh between representatives of the local Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Azerbaijani authorities.

They discussed the reintegration of Karabakh Armenians and humanitarian aid to the region.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the country had “fulfilled all the tasks of the anti-terrorist operation” and “restored its sovereignty” in 24 hours.

As previously reported, a video of the Azerbaijani army’s attack on the base of Russian “peacekeepers” in Nagorno-Karabakh has been posted online.
