In the Lyman sector, the Russians sent heavy armored vehicles to storm the area, which entered the zone of operation of Ukrainian drones and artillery.

The 3rd Army Corps reported that the military thwarted the attack and destroyed the column.

The enemy’s armored vehicle column was detected in the 3rd Corps’ area of responsibility. After that, it was struck by drones from the Kraken unit.

“The Russians are still relying on heavy mechanized rolls, but the war has changed,” the corps said.

To prevent the enemy infantry from dismounting, enemy BMPs and tanks attacked swarms of FPV drones from the Silver Battalion unit.

Ukrainian artillery also joined in the destruction of the column.

Ukrainian strikes forced the Russian convoy to retreat, but Ukrainian drones also caught up with it during its retreat.

“With the support of fighters from the Third Assault Brigade, the 63rd Mechanized Brigade, and the artillery of the 60th Mechanized Brigade, every piece of equipment was destroyed,” the corps said.

Working together, the units destroyed a tank, three armored personnel carriers, and eliminated the infantry.

On March 5, the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the enemy had attacked three times in the Lyman sector.

“They tried to break through our defenses in the areas of the settlements of Drobysheve, Zarichne, and Stavy,” the General Staff said about the directions of the attacks.

Lyman is an important city for the Russians in their plans to advance on Kramatorsk and Sloviansk. This city was liberated by the Ukrainian military in October 2022.
