The Ukrainian company Deftak has developed and presented guided drone munitions designed to strike targets with high precision.
A company representative shared the details with Militarnyi at the Arsenal of Talents exhibition.
These munitions can adjust their flight path after launch, allowing them to accurately track and hit a target.
Unlike traditional shells or bombs that follow a fixed ballistic path, these are equipped with a guidance system.
Deftak’s munitions use computer vision, meaning the projectile flies directly to the designated target point.
The Deftak munition is equipped with electronics, a camera, and a warhead.
“We also have several types of software for flight control and machine vision,” the company notes.
The company has already conducted combat tests of its munitions and plans to sign contracts and complete their codification with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the near future.
The guided munitions have already been tested on multirotor drones, with plans to integrate them into fixed-wing drones next.
The company also plans to implement a laser guidance system, in which the munition homes in on a laser designator marking the target.
Last year, the startup Deftak received €600,000 in investment from the European defense fund Darkstar.
According to the investor, the munitions created by the startup are capable of striking targets with high accuracy even without using GPS. The company’s technology is also ten times cheaper than traditional systems.
