Ukrainian Forces Defeat Russian Armored Group Near Yablunivka

The Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed an assault armored group of Russian troops near Yablunivka in the Donetsk region.

This was reported by the 36th Marine Brigade, which, together with other units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, took part in the battle.

According to them, Russian troops made a bold attempt at a mechanized assault from several flanks.

To repel the attack, the Ukrainian military used artillery, anti-tank systems and attack drones.

The enemy was under constant surveillance by Ukrainian drones, which adjusted fire on enemy equipment and manpower in real time.

As a result of the battle, the Russians suffered significant losses. More than ten armored vehicles, six motorized vehicles, and dozens of infantrymen were destroyed.

“As a result of the battle, the enemy lost 14 armored vehicles, about 50 servicemen (irretrievable and sanitary losses), as well as six units of motorized vehicles,” brigade representatives said.

Yablunivka is located in the Kostyantynivka direction, one of the key areas where Russian troops are trying to advance to the town of Kostyantynivka.

Despite the fact that Russia is using mechanized offensives on the frontline less and less, this attempt may indicate the strategic importance of this particular area for the Russian command.

For a long time, the invaders have been trying to reach Kostiantynivka from three directions.

In particular, there were attempts to attack from Toretsk, Kramatorsk and Chasiv Yar.

Recently, the 20th Lyubart Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine also released details of a close combat with the invaders  that took place in May near the village of Romanivka.
