The units of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces and affiliated units captured nine Russian Marines in the Kursk region.

A video with the prisoners of war was posted on the official Facebook account of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.

The captured Russian soldiers were part of the 810th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade, which is based in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

According to the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, the Russian soldiers, instead of dying a dishonorable death, chose captivity and surrendered to Ukrainian soldiers, thus replenishing the exchange fund.

“At first, they agreed to defend the illusory fantasies of the Kremlin’s dictatorial regime, but eventually, they chose captivity and surrendered to Ukrainian soldiers — another addition to the exchange fund of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces in the Kursk region,” the statement read.

Among the POWs, in addition to the Russian servicemen, there were also the residents of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, including Yarmakov Andrii Mykolaiovych, born in 1982, from Bakhchysarai, who served in the 810th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade.

Also, Afanasiev Dmytro Serhiiovych, born in 2003, from the village of Rozdilne, who served as part of the 810th Brigade.

Despite the reports from Russian propagandists claiming that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have withdrawn from the Kursk region, the defenders continue to hold off the enemy’s advance, which is concentrating new forces in this area.

The Russians intend to continue their pressure in order to open new frontlines in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In addition, the soldiers of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, working alongside allied forces, successfully fought off a mechanized assault on the outskirts of the village of Guyevo in the Kursk region.

Thanks to the timely and effective work of intelligence, the enemy’s advance was quickly detected, allowing the Ukrainian defenders to prepare for the assault and strategically position their firepower in advance.

First, the enemy’s equipment was immobilized by FPV strikes, followed by bomb drops and strikes from bomber drones. In addition to the drones, artillery also delivered strikes.

It was reported that, as a result of the battle, the paratroopers, in cooperation with adjacent units, destroyed one tank, three APCs, and two enemy golf carts, and inflicted casualties on enemy military personnel.
