IT Coalition has already raised almost €500 million for Ukraine

The IT Coalition, established to help Ukraine under the leadership of Estonia and Luxembourg, has attracted almost €500 million in the first year.

The Estonian Ministry of Defense reported that the IT Coalition’s management group meeting was held in Luxembourg.

The meeting reviewed the report of the first year of the coalition’s activities and considered the most important needs of Ukraine for the next year.

During the year, the coalition member states provided bilateral assistance in the IT sector worth €410 million, and €72 million was raised for joint procurement.

Technological support in the IT sector is an important part of Ukraine’s current combat capability.

This year, Ukraine’s tactical communications, data center expansion, and cybersecurity needs were supported.

In addition to co-leading the coalition with Luxembourg, Estonia contributed €2.5 million to the coalition this year to support Ukraine’s mobilization system. In 2025, Estonia will contribute €5 million to the IT Coalition.

“Although the coalition’s progress over the year has been excellent, we have called on the member states to think about their contribution for 2025 today,” the Estonian Ministry of Defense noted.

The IT Coalition, led by Estonia and Luxembourg, is one of eight capability coalitions within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.

The IT Coalition aims to provide support to the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of IT, communications, and cybersecurity.

The IT Coalition currently includes 14 partner countries and Ukraine. Finland and Spain joined the Coalition in September. More countries are expected to join soon.

In July, Ukraine received network equipment and supporting licenses due to contributions from Luxembourg and Denmark to the IT Coalition.
