The armed forces of the Russian Federation tested the electronic warfare system in the Kaliningrad region.

This was reported from open sources, due to strong interference that made GPS operation impossible.

Due to powerful electronic interference, the global positioning system did not work in half of Poland’s regions and the Suwalki corridor.

In addition to Poland itself, problems with the GPS were recorded in other European countries.

Regional airlines have also reported problems with GPS, which has led to navigation errors over the southern part of the Baltic Sea.

This is not the first case of such actions by Russian troops stationed in the Kaliningrad region. Thus, since December 15, 2023, civilian aircraft have reported interruptions and poor navigation coverage of the Baltic Sea.

Currently, the Russian garrison of ground forces in Kaliningrad has at its disposal the 142nd separate electronic warfare battalion and the 841st separate electronic warfare center (military unit 09643).

The units are armed with the Murmansk-BN electronic warfare communications jamming system, which at the end of 2018, entered service with the 841st Separate Electronic Warfare Center of the Baltic Fleet in Kaliningrad.

According to the developers, it can jam communications over the entire shortwave bands at ranges of up to 5000 km.

The 142nd Electronic Warfare Battalion is armed with the Palantyn and Krasukha electronic warfare systems.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Russian defense industry made an agreement with the Egyptian company to jointly produce the Zashchita C-UAS system.

The Rostec state corporation decided to keep the name of the Egyptian company secret.

The cooperation will involve the organization of licensed production of Zashchita anti-drone systems. This mobile equipment can be activated within minutes and provides protection against drones within a 2-km radius, regardless of the time of day or weather conditions.
