Servicemen of Ukrainian Armed Forces will undergo rehabilitation in the Netherlands specialized institutions. The Netherlands also joined INTERFLEX program.
This was reported by the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Kajsa Ollongren, in an interview to ArmiyaInform.
The first group of Ukrainian servicemen will go to the Netherlands at the beginning of next month to participate in the program.
“We are lucky in the Netherlands, and indeed in Western Europe, that we have not experienced the kind of war that we are seeing in Ukraine today,” Ollongren stressed.
At the same time, she noted that every war gives lessons worth learning. And the experience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the fight against the Russian invaders is useful for the Dutch army.
“We closely monitor the development of events, tactics and use of material resources and try to include what we see in our own training exercises. In this way, the combat experience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could contribute to our adaptive and military capabilities,” said the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands.
Next year, the Netherlands also plans to provide aid to wounded Ukrainian soldiers.
The Netherlands also joined the INTERFLEX initiative that suggests Ukrainian military personnel training in Great Britain.
“The main aspects of the military support of the Netherlands: supply of weapons systems, training of the Ukrainian military and provision of food. In general, we do not disclose any specifics regarding deliveries. The exceptions are howitzers, anti-aircraft missiles and training in Great Britain,” Ollongren said.
She emphasized that, aside from the provision of military ammunition, the education and training of the troops is of utmost importance for Ukraine to continue its struggle.
“We joined the initiative of one of our most valuable partners — the training of the Ukrainian military in Great Britain. Operation INTERFLEX is a unique multinational training program created in Great Britain, after the completion of which you receive trained soldiers for a year,” the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands explained.
She also added that the European Union has decided to start the EUMAM program, which will provide training for the Ukrainian military in Poland and Germany, and the Netherlands will also participate in this program.
