In the Russian-occupied Crimea, explosions and fire continue in the Dzhankoi district.

This was reported by the media and social media.

On the morning of August 16, eyewitnesses observed explosions that resembled the detonation of ammunition and a fire.

Black smoke can also be seen rising from different areas of the nearby settlement.

According to preliminary data, the explosion took place in the area of Maiske village near Dzhankoi.

Local residents write on social networks that they heard a loud “clap” before the incident.

Eyewitnesses also released a video featuring the fire on the transformer substation territory. It’s not yet known whether these events are related.

One of the leaders of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars, Refat Chubarov, wrote that it was reported from the temporarily occupied Crimea that “they hit the ammunition depot in the village of Qalay (currently Azovske). The sounds of the explosions spread far across the steppe.”

Aksyonov, the head of the Russian occupation administration of Crimea, urgently left for the village of Maiske, Dzhankoi district.

According to Chubarov, the village of Maiske is located at a distance of 1 kilometer from the village of Azovske.

As previously reported, on August 9, explosions took place at the military airfield in Novofedorivka in occupied Crimea.
