Vector UAV adjusts strike against Russian Grad multiple rocket launcher

Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a Russian Grad multiple rocket launcher by adjusting the strike with the help of a Vector UAV.

A video capturing the destruction of the Russian system was published on the page of the Aeronauts aerial reconnaissance unit.

Aerial reconnaissance detected the Russian system in a parking lot along with an ammunition delivery vehicle.

The soldiers probably detected the Russian crew reloading the Grad multiple rocket launcher, as well as the crew itself near the vehicle.

Having identified the target, the Vector drone transmitted the coordinates to the artillerymen, who hit both enemy vehicles and military personnel with an accurate shot.

After the strike, the Grad launcher began to burn, and the loaded shells started to spontaneously initiate and fly out of the guides.

As a result of the strike, the launcher was severely damaged and started to burn, likely making it impossible to restore.

It should be noted that due to the rather low accuracy and limited range, Russian Grad multiple rocket launchers have to approach the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces at a distance of 15 to 20 km, which increases the likelihood of detection and, accordingly, the risk of losing the system.

This is also confirmed by the losses of rocket launchers, which since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, have amounted to 266 units that have been destroyed or damaged. The losses and damage were analyzed by the OSINT project Oryx, which recorded in its reports that most of these units were destroyed and a smaller number were damaged.

In addition, the enemy suffered significant losses in multiple launch rocket systems in October-November 2024, when in two weeks of work on the front line, the Security Service of Ukraine managed to destroy 16 BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed an enemy Grad multiple rocket launcher in the Zaporizhzhia sector.

The enemy multiple rocket launcher system was defeated by the National Guard together with a unit of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, which conducted aerial reconnaissance of the area and detected the presence of the enemy.
