The United States will continue to strengthen Ukraine’s position to resist Russian invasion.

This was stated by the White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre at a briefing, writes Ukrinform.

“This is Putin’s war, this is Putin’s unprovoked aggression against the sovereignty of another state. Ukraine should defend itself, and they (Ukrainians – ed.) do it in an incredibly impressive way,” Jean-Pierre commented on the position of the White House.

She also reiterated the notion that all wars end at the negotiating table.

“We hope that this war ends with negotiations, but now we do not see this (intention – ed.) coming from the Kremlin,” Jean-Pierre said.

The White House press secretary stressed that the United States will try to provide as strong a position for Ukraine as possible to be ready for negotiations when the time comes.

The Head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin said that the United States together with allies and partners from different countries are ready to fully facilitate the implementation of Ukraine’s request to equip the Armed Forces with defense weapons to resist Russia, the UNN writes.

When asked whether the West is ready to provide Ukraine with requested weaponry, in particular, another thousand howitzers and 300 MLRS, Austin replied:

“The United States is ready to provide everything and help Ukraine succeed.”

Austin assured that the United States and other countries will continue to make efforts to deliver as much support as possible to Ukraine and help the Armed Forces to succeed as soon as possible.

The next meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine will be held on June 15 in Brussels.
