The United Kingdom will allocate €300 million to support a joint delivery with Sweden of 16 Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine.

This was announced by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to Kyiv, according to Suspilne.

“The United Kingdom intends to provide 300 million euros in support to, together with Sweden, supply Ukraine with 16 state-of-the-art fighter jets to defend your skies. We are ready to stand with you, using all the resources at our disposal,” said the head of the British government.

The funds will finance the transfer of aircraft, which will significantly strengthen the Ukrainian Air Force’s ability to repel air attacks.

Keir Starmer also added that, despite his upcoming resignation as prime minister, the next head of the British government will continue the policy of supporting Ukraine.
