Ukrainian volunteers have developed shrapnel ammunition for dumping from FPV-drones.

The development and manufacture are carried out by volunteers from the Steel Hornets project.

Volunteers are involved in the production of kamikaze drones, drop devices for quadcopters, and other equipment.

The new munition is reported to have a mechanical nose pin. The diameter of the hull is 63mm and the weight in a fully assembled form is 800 g.

“Handed out some [ammunition] to the guys for combat tests. We are waiting for feedback,” the developers said.

This type of ammunition, with striking elements, is designed to defeat enemy manpower.

Inside the ammunition are striking elements similar to steel balls.

The military has already begun testing the discharge of shrapnel ammunition at the test site.

According to the developers, UAV operators will use dive tactics to launch strikes using new shrapnel ammunition.

The new tactics make it possible to use FPV drones several times. Such reuse allows saving materials and budgets.

FPV (First Person View) drone operators directly see the picture taken by the UAV, and such drones with FPV function are available even in the low-price segment.

A Person View-copter is usually made like a high-speed sports one, but it is designed to carry more payload. It is controlled exclusively by the control panel using the image of the heading camera.
