On the night of September 13th, Ukrainian drones attacked Bashneft’s oil refineries in Ufa, Russia.
According to ASTRA’s sources in the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, a drone hit the territory of the Bashneft-Novoil refinery located on Birsky Trakt Street.
The drone hit the AVT-1 process unit, which damaged the gas pipeline and flare manifold. The impact caused a fire.
Another drone fell on the territory of the Ufa Oil Refinery (Bashneft-UNPZ). It damaged the AVT-6 unit and put two pipelines out of commission – water and nitrogen.
The two facilities are located about three kilometers apart.
UNPZ evacuated 70 employees. Another 284 people were sheltered in specially equipped protective structures. No casualties were reported.
Novoil and UNPZ are part of Bashneft, which has been under the control of Rosneft since 2016.
These plants are engaged in oil refining, production of gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene and petrochemical products.
The head of Bashkortostan officially confirmed the attack on Bashneft.
At the same time, Ukrainska Pravda’s sources, citing the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, also confirmed the attack on the Bashneft-Novoil refinery in Ufa.
The attacks by Ukrainian drones were another blow to Russia’s oil refining infrastructure, which plays a key role in providing the army with fuel.
On September 14th, it became known that attack drones had struck one of Russia’s largest refineries, the Kirishi Oil Refinery in the Leningrad region.
