Ukrainian pilots launch AASM bombs from ultra-low altitudes

A Ukrainian MiG-29 launched French AASM-250 bombs at the ultra-low altitude in the Belgorod region.

The Ukrainian military published the footage of the combat operation.

The pilot of the Ukrainian fighter jet performed a complex dive-bombing maneuver with two bombs at an extremely low altitude to avoid being hit by Russian anti-aircraft missiles near the front line.

He managed to launch the bombs from such a low altitude due to a sharp maneuver and a feature of the French AASM adjusted aerial bomb equipped with a solid rocket booster.

Immediately after launching the bombs, the fighter pilot turned the plane back and descended sharply to minimize the risk of being captured by a Russian air defense system.

At the same time, the two 250-kilogram bombs continued to fly independently in the direction of the target according to satellite coordinates.

The video shows the consequences of the use of precision air weapons by the Air Force against Russian targets in the Belgorod region, as Militarnyi wrote about a few days earlier.

The footage captures the damage to a building used by the command of one of the motorized rifle regiments of the Russian Armed Forces as a command center.

“The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, successfully struck at the command center of the enemy motorized rifle regiment located in the village of Nekhotiyivka, Belgorod region (Russia). As a result of combat operations, explosions were recorded. The target was successfully destroyed,” the General Staff stated.

This is the first video to show Ukrainian tactical aviation’s flight and use of precision weapons at such a low altitude.

Militarnyi previously published a video of AASM bombs being launched at an altitude of about 1,500 meters from a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet.

The Russian military has also previously demonstrated how an AASM missile bomb arrives at an extremely short distance from the operator.
