Ukrainian naval surface drones attacked the seaport in the Russian city of Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, on the morning of September 3.

Militarnyi’s GEOINT analysis, along with photos and videos published by the monitoring channel Exilenova+, supports this.

Local residents have posted eyewitness videos online showing smoke rising from the explosion site.

Footage also shows a surface drone exploding directly beside the pier.

One explosion occurred near a Russian Pantsir air defense system location, as captured in photographs. It may have been one of the targets of the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ strikes.

During the attack, local channels reported loud explosions in the city center and urged residents to leave the area around the seaport.

Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency also imposed temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures at the airports of Sochi and Gelendzhik “to ensure flight safety.”

This may indicate that, in addition to naval drones, UAVs were also involved in the strike, although no footage of them flying in the area of the Russian city has emerged online so far.

Last month, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Russian Navy base and port in Novorossiysk with Neptune missiles, Palianytsia turbojet drones, and unmanned surface vehicles.
