Ukrainian military received Korean MREs

Ukrainian soldiers showcased the contents of the Republic of Korea’s army rations.

South Korea reported on the transfer of non-lethal military assistance to Ukraine back in April.

Help included body armor, helmets, medicines, as well as food ready for consumption.

The diet of the South Korean army, as in most armed forces, is based on national cuisine.

Given the national preferences of Koreans, dishes invariably include rice.

South Korean dry MREs are called Military Ration.

It also includes disposable dishes.

Packaged food and Korea’s classic MREs contains:

• 250 grams of already cooked white rice with meat and vegetables plus a bag of spices;
• 250 g of the same rice with red beans;
• 100 g pork sausages grill;
• 100 grams of kimchi is a traditional Korean dish in the form of spicy sauerkraut vegetables (mainly cabbage) with seasonings);
• 50 grams of black beans.

There is a self-heating package for the main course, as well as a package weighing 230 grams with food for heating.

An important difference between a dryer from the Republic of Korea and analogues from many other countries is that a self-heating package does not require the addition of water. Just pull the elongated polymer ring above and the bag will start to heat the food.

In another package, there are meatballs with finely chopped vegetables, which are analogues to meatballs. There are four meatballs in one package.

In a separate plastic package is Kochujan – Korean hot sauce, which is combined with a heated side dish.
