Ukrainian MiG-29 Crashed in Poltava Region — Pilot Ejected

On the night of June 27, a MiG-29 fighter jet of the Ukrainian Air Force was lost in the skies over the Poltava region.

The aircraft was on a combat mission when contact was lost, according to the Communications Directorate of the Ukrainian Air Force Command.

The Ukrainian pilot successfully ejected during the incident and was unharmed. After landing, he independently established contact with the search and rescue team.

He was taken to a medical facility for examination and to receive all necessary medical care.

Efforts are currently underway to locate the crash site of the fighter jet’s wreckage, and an investigation has been launched to determine the causes of the accident.

As a reminder, on June 16 in the Khmelnytskyi region, a Su-24M frontline bomber from the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade named after Petro Franko crashed.

Unfortunately, both pilots, Major Bohdan Hryhorovych Zaharulka and Senior Lieutenant Bohdan Oleksandrovych Babenko, were killed.
