A Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet bombed the Russian invaders’ company command center in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.

A video of the precise strike was published in the Soniashnyk Telegram channel, linked to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Special Operations Forces (SOF).

It is reported that the strike was carried out using two French AASM HAMMER bombs.

A Ukrainian reconnaissance drone monitored the movement and accumulation of Russian invaders in one of the buildings and the results of the airstrike.

In the released footage, a group of Russians can be observed entering a two-story building, and soon after, two air-to-ground bombs hit the building. The explosions caused the building to be destroyed.

OSINT researchers from the WarArchive Telegram channel discovered that the precision airstrike by a Ukrainian fighter jet on the invaders took place in the city of Oleshky, on the left bank of the Kherson region.

AASM (HAMMER)

AASM is an upgrade kit for free-falling unguided bombs, similar to the US JDAM. It consists of a front part with a guidance system and flaps, and a rear part with an accelerator that increases the range.

France has two types of AASMs in service: Hammer-250 for Mk. 82 bombs (227 kg) and Hammer-1000 for Mk. 84 (908 kg).

The nose part of the kit can be equipped with three variants of guidance systems: inertial with GPS, inertial with a thermal imaging homing head, or inertial with laser guidance.

The Ukrainian Air Force has been using these 227 kg bombs since the beginning of 2024. The first publicly reported use was recorded during the battles for Avdiivka in early March 2024.
