Ukrainian Fighter Jet Destroys Russian Command Center in Kherson Region

A Ukrainian Air Force aircraft destroyed a Russian company command center and a building housing military personnel of the Russian army in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.

The video was published on the Soniashnyk Telegram channel, which is affiliated with the Ukrainian Air Force.

It is reported that the strike had been carried out by a MiG-29 fighter jet using two French AASM HAMMER bombs.

The footage shows how, after precise strikes, the buildings located close to each other were destroyed.

“Aviation continues to operate in all sectors, the crew of the MiG-29 destroys the company command center and the barn where the security unit was usually located,” the Telegram channel reported.

The OSINT researchers of the WarArchive Telegram channel found out that a Ukrainian fighter jet had attacked the invaders in the village of Babyno in the Kherson region.

As previously reported, a Ukrainian Air Force aircraft carried out a precision strike, destroying a Russian army command center in the temporarily occupied Kherson region.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the command center belonged to the 81st Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment of the Russian invasion forces.

The footage captures one or two bombs hitting the underground structure simultaneously, piercing through its top and penetrating inside.

AASM (HAMMER)

AASM is an upgrade kit for free-falling unguided bombs, similar to the US JDAM. It consists of a front part with a guidance system and flaps, and a rear part with an accelerator that increases the range.

France has two types of the AASMs in service: Hammer-250 for Mk. 82 bombs (227 kg) and Hammer-1000 for Mk. 84 (908 kg).

The nose part of the kit can be equipped with three variants of guidance systems: inertial with GPS, inertial with a thermal imaging homing head, or inertial with laser guidance.
