Ukrainian forces in Crimea managed to fly to a airfield and strike the An-72P aircraft.

The combat operation was performed on the night of April 2 by forces from the 1st Separate Unmanned Systems Forces and the 9th Department of the Main Intelligence Directorate, USF Commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi reported.

The aircraft was detected at the Kirovskoye military airfield, south of the town of Islam-Terek.

“An An-72P transport aircraft, as well as a P-37 two-coordinate omnidirectional radar station, were detected and destroyed,” Madyar announced.

A Ukrainian FP-2 drone from Fire Point was used to take out the Russian aircraft. This drone carries a 60–100-kilogram warhead, which easily destroys enemy equipment.

The destroyed An-72P maritime patrol aircraft is designed for patrolling coastal waters.
