Ukrainian DELTA System Successfully integrated with the Polish TOPAZ

The Ukrainian DELTA Integrated Combat Management System has been integrated with the Polish TOPAZ artillery fire control system.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that the integration was carried out during NATO’s CWIX-2024 exercise in the Polish city of Bydgoszcz.

TOPAZ is used with KRAB howitzers and RAK self-propelled mortars in service with Ukraine.

During the exercises, the DELTA system collected, updated and supplemented information, including data on the location of its own forces and friendly units, which was then transferred to the Polish TOPAZ system.

This helped to create a complete understanding of the situation on the battlefield and demonstrated DELTA’s ability to securely transmit restricted data.

As a result, the Ukrainian system successfully coped with the task and confirmed interoperability with many other NATO systems.

This year, the DELTA system team successfully tested 5 different interoperability standards and passed all tests successfully.

“The team made numerous presentations to various national delegations and received high praise for their work,” said Lieutenant Colonel Yelyzaveta Boyko of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

DELTA’s work was separately presented to NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Digital Transformation General Philip Lavin and Deputy Chief of Staff for NATO Digital Transformation Vice Admiral Jeffrey W. Hughes.

In June, it became known that in early July, the DELTA system would be fully legalized and introduced into the Ukrainian army.

This system was developed by the NGO Aerorozvidka and the Defense Technology Innovation and Development Center of the Ministry of Defense.

The first prototype of the system was presented in 2016. In 2019, the project’s compatibility with similar systems of NATO countries was confirmed at CWIX-2019.
