Ukrainian defenders received 15 Sych UAVs from the KOLO Foundation

Soldiers from five Ukrainian Defense Force units received 15 domestically produced Sych drones.

The KOLO charitable foundation donated the drones and posted photos on its Facebook page.

The Foundation shared that 15 aircraft and four ground stations worth UAH 18,719,350 were purchased for the defenders as part of the Sych-Bombach fundraiser.

External pilots from the DRSG unit, the Kartel, the 229th Battalion of the 127th Territorial Defense Brigade, the 411th UAS Regiment ‘Yastruby,’ the 423rd UAS Battalion ‘Skifski Grifony,’ and the 58th Brigade will operate the drones.

“Thanks for the ‘Sychs’, we need more!” the defenders shared during the previous delivery. We laughed as we transferred 12 UAVs, but soon took the request into consideration. That’s how the Sych-Bombach campaign was born, which a group of anonymous donors almost immediately closed, and we secured a place in line for the wings,” the KOLO Foundation reported.

The Foundation noted that the Sych UAS is one of the best drones in its niche and is needed for reconnaissance, target identification, and specific tasks behind enemy lines.

“It operates both day and night and can fly up to 150 km to detect the movement of enemy equipment and personnel, as well as to engage detected targets. Communication with this “bird” cannot be intercepted, so the drones can reach places where other aircraft are jammed,” the Foundation shared.

Ukrainian defenders have been using Sych drones for a long time, including for strikes against the rear of the Russian invaders.

They were transferred, in particular, to special forces of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine by various charitable foundations.

According to Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defense Intelligence, in attack mode, the Sych flies into enemy rear areas and is resistant to enemy electronic warfare systems.

He noted that the Sych drones have proven themselves well. Therefore, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has trained crews and instructors who teach new operators how to use these domestically produced strike and reconnaissance drones.

Ukrainian defenders use these drones to destroy both the manpower and armored vehicles of the Russian invaders.
