Ukrainian border guards received airfield fire trucks from Germany

Ukrainian border guards received two airfield fire trucks from Germany.

The State Border Guard Service reported this.

Recently, two aviation squadrons of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine received Rosenbauer Panther airfield fire trucks to strengthen their fire departments.

This humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian aviators was provided by the Federal Agency for Technical Assistance of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with the Ukrainian Border Guard Service.

The State Border Guard Service noted that the transfer of two units of modern special equipment took place on the Ukrainian-Polish border at one of the checkpoints.

“The Rosenbauer Panther is currently one of the most efficient fire trucks in the world. Their technical characteristics make them the most modern fire technology model of our time, and the design was recognized with many awards,” the representative of the German Federal Agency, which transmitted the vehicles, shared.

Ukrainian border guards thanked for the special equipment provided.

“We sincerely thank our partners for their help! Together, we are strong!” – the State Border Guard Service stressed.

According to the Austrian manufacturer, the Rosenbauer Panther airfield fire truck with a 6×6 wheel arrangement is equipped with a 750 hp engine, which provides a maximum speed of up to 120 km/h.

It has a rear-mounted engine, and the crew cabin is located in front. The truck is equipped with a vehicle control post and seats for personnel. The middle part of the vehicle places a fire extinguishing module with tanks, equipment, and a powerful pumping unit. The volume of the extinguishing agent on board is up to 14,000 liters. The pump capacity is 9 000 l/min.

To improve reliability in airfield fire engines, most of the important systems are duplicated.

Panther 6×6 can reach acceleration from 0 to 80 km/h in less than 31 seconds.
