Ukraine Developed UAV-290 Jet-Powered Strike UAV

At the Eurosatory 2026 exhibition, Ukroboronprom presented the new UAV-290 strike unmanned aerial vehicle.

The new weapon is designed for autonomous engagement of stationary ground targets at tactical range.

The drone is equipped with a turbojet engine, providing a high cruising speed of up to 800 km/h.

The system launches using a solid-fuel booster, after which it transitions to autonomous flight mode, guided by an integrated INS+GPS navigation system.

With a maximum payload capacity of 100 kg, the UAV-290 has a total weight of 350 kg. The aircraft’s range reaches 650 km, allowing it to strike targets at a considerable distance. Its compact dimensions—specifically a wingspan of 1.7 meters and a length of 3.5 meters—ensure the system’s mobility, as it is deployed from mobile platforms.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that Ukrainian developers presented the DRAGON ground launch system at the Eurosatory international exhibition in Paris.
