External pilots from the 413th Raid Battalion of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces struck a Russian 1K148 Yastreb-AV artillery reconnaissance radar.

The radar is one of the newest systems of its kind in Russia’s arsenal.

The unit’s press service released footage showing two separate drone strikes on the radar at different locations.

In the first instance, an aircraft-type strike drone hit the deployed radar in an open field.

The second strike took place near a wooded area, also monitored by a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone.

It is unclear from the footage how much damage the radar sustained or whether it was completely disabled.

Even partial damage to the 1K148 poses a serious challenge for Russian forces. The system is considered the most advanced of its type in Russian service, and repairs are costly.

Ukrainian forces previously destroyed a Yastreb-AV in the Donetsk region using HIMARS in January 2024. Additional strikes on the radar system were reported in the Kherson region and near the city of Yenakiieve.
