Ukrainian company I-SEE, which develops drone detection and defeat systems, has launched an open platform that allows users to integrate third-party hardware and software into its ecosystem.

The company shared the details with Militarnyi.

I-SEE provides a complete counter-UAS solution for detecting, tracking, and engaging drones. The system automatically detects and tracks targets while calculating the parameters required for engagement. It is already deployed with net-launcher systems, while integrations with remote weapon stations and electronic warfare (EW) systems are currently being tested in the laboratory. The company also plans to add support for interceptor drones in the future.

According to I-SEE, military units, systems integrators, and third-party developers can now connect their own hardware and software directly to the platform’s core and build new capabilities themselves, eliminating the need to wait for vendor-developed updates or features.

The platform provides three integration layers: an Application Programming Interface (API), a Software Development Kit (SDK), and a plug-in module framework.

The API enables real-time access to system data from any external software application. The SDK provides developers with a ready-to-use toolkit, while the module framework allows new functionality to be added to the core system without modifying its source code.

“The principle is straightforward: the core is the brain, extensions live at the edge. Detection, tracking, ballistic and engagement calculations, target selection, engagement decisions, and safety mechanisms remain within the I-SEE core. Everything else – visualization, analytics, integrations, and hardware connectivity – is implemented through plug-in modules,” the company explained.

In February, I-SEE announced that it had developed an AI-powered drone detection system and was using it as the foundation for an autonomous counter-drone Active Protection System (APS).

According to the company, the solution combines computer vision with Edge AI to enable real-time drone detection and tracking. What began as an intelligent system for detecting and tracking hostile UAVs has since evolved into a versatile core platform designed to support a wide range of kinetic drone-interception systems.

I-SEE says the platform’s main advantage is its hardware-agnostic design. The system can transform virtually any optical device into a smart sensor, processing video feeds locally rather than in the cloud. This allows it to operate in real time with minimal latency, even without an internet connection.

According to the company, the logical next step in the concept’s development is to create a full-fledged counter-drone Active Protection System (APS). As of early 2026, I-SEE was developing its own automated turret as part of that effort.

The concept envisions a turret capable of automatically slewing onto a detected target and engaging it using either an integrated firearm or a net-launching system. By automating target engagement, the system is designed to minimize human involvement during high-stress situations and reduce reaction times against incoming drones.
