Russian troops on motorcycles made an unsuccessful attempt to storm the village of Mala Tokmachka.
The 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade reported the defeat of the invaders.
This time, the command of several Russian motorized infantry regiments and brigades sent troops on the offensive at an unusual time.
Instead of the usual morning or evening twilight, the assault began on June 16 at 6:00 p.m. — in full daylight.
To increase its chances of breaking through to Mala Tokmachka, the enemy deployed more than 30 motorized vehicles, which advanced along three different routes.
The Russian military equipped some of the motorcycles with special devices for clearing minefields.
Mobile electronic warfare systems were also spotted on several motorcycles.
“However, neither the change in timing nor the invaders’ technical innovations helped them. On the contrary — such audacity only spurred our units to even more active destruction,” the brigade reported.
As a result, after several hours of combat, servicemen of the 118th Mechanized Brigade, together with attached units, eliminated 26 Russian assault troops.
More than ten additional invaders sustained serious injuries. According to the military, the enemy is not evacuating them.
In addition, Ukrainian defenders destroyed more than two dozen motorcycles and up to ten ATVs.
“There are no casualties among the servicemen of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade. We are holding our ground, we are holding Mala Tokmachka, and we continue to drive the enemy out of Ukrainian territory,” the military stated.
